2003 50+ AAA Champions
Top Gun San Diego was formed in the mid-1980s for the purpose of running senior
softball tournaments in San Diego.
The initial tournaments were held on what was then the Miramar Naval Air
Station, a venue that was used through the 1990s. Subsequent tournaments have
been held in Escondido and Menifee.
A natural outgrowth of holding tournaments was developing talent to play in them
and the first team to carry the Top Gun name began to play in the 60s division
in 1992. In the seventeen years since then, Top Gun teams have won “ring”
level championships in major tournaments no less than twelve times!
There are currently twelve men’s and women’s teams playing under the Top Gun San
Diego banner.
