Hall of Fame Inductees

Joe Hensley: Player Category Inductee

Joe Hensley was inducted into the Top Gun Hall of Fame in the Player category in recognition of an extraordinary career defined by excellence, consistency, and quiet leadership. One of the most respected competitors in senior softball, Joe combined elite performance with an unwavering commitment to his teammates and the game.

Over his career, Joe captured 10 SSUSA World Championships, earned more than 30 All-Tournament selections, and helped lead teams to numerous Tournament of Champions qualifying titles. He also went a perfect three-for-three at the Huntsman World Senior Games with Top Gun, earning gold medals in each appearance. His success across multiple teams and competitive levels reflects not only rare talent, but adaptability and a team-first mindset.

Beyond the accomplishments, Joe is revered as a mentor and teammate. Humble by nature, relentless in preparation, and dependable in the biggest moments, he earned the respect and endorsement of many of the game’s top players and managers. His mantra, “Be a monster on Sunday,” captures the standard he lived by: delivering when it mattered most.
Joe Hensley’s induction honors not only a Hall of Fame resume, but a Hall of Fame example of character, perseverance, and leadership within the Top Gun community.

Rick Fisher: Honorary Hall of Fame Inductee

Rick Fisher was inducted into the Top Gun Hall of Fame under the Honorary Category in recognition of his decade of selfless service, leadership, and lasting impact on the Top Gun Senior Softball Association.

A steady and respected presence within the organization, Rick has served as a longtime team manager and pitcher, helping start several Top Gun teams and introducing scores of new players to the Top Gun family. His leadership style is defined by organization, fairness, and a calm, even-keeled approach that consistently puts the needs of the team first.

Rick’s Top Gun journey began in 2016 when he co-founded a Top Gun team with Myron Pembrook after the two met while representing the United States on SSUSA international tours to Germany and Italy. Over the years, his teams have been known not only for their competitiveness, but for their sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect for the game.

A Vietnam veteran and successful businessman, Rick has built teams both on and off the field throughout his life. His quiet dedication, integrity, and commitment to Top Gun’s values have left a lasting mark on the organization, making him a deserving member of the Top Gun Hall of Fame.

President's Award Recipient

Jeff Blakeman - Salute to Selfless Service

At the 2025 annual Top Gun awards ceremony on December 6, Jeff Blakeman was presented with the coveted President’s award. Jeff was a member of the executive board as the Secretary for the past two years. However, Jeff has been serving the Top Gun Community for much longer and in many capacities. As Secretary, some of the duties that Jeff was responsible for were maintaining all of the administrative and many critical financial documents, drafting the agenda for the board meetings and keeping all of the Top Gun members informed of the organization’s news and events. Jeff performed these functions exceptionally well as well as managing and fielding a highly successful majors rated softball team.

His total commitment to the Top Gun philosophy, also included assisting virtually every other member of the board of directors, entering and reviewing articles for the websites, writeups for Hall of Fame applications, and assisted in representing Top Gun on nearly all TG/SSUSA tournaments. His absence from the board of directors will be truly missed but we are very fortunate to have him in the organization where he continues to inspire us all.
